INVISIBLE CHILDREN FIVE MILE WALK

The "Invisible Children" fund raiser took place in the Summer of '06 on a Friday night and concluded the following day. Soul Patrol participants got a small taste of what it means to be an "Invisible child" of Uganda. The "Invisible Children" of Uganda (also know as "night commuters") move from town to town at nightfall to escape the malicious army known as the "Lord's Resistancd Army" (LRA). They live in fear of being caught by soldiers of the LRA. If caught they will be forced to join by way of fear tactics. If they do not become a soldier, they will be killed. No other choice.

Soul Patrol set out on a Friday night from PC and Molly's home. They walked through the streets of New Castle to end up at the Church of Genesis approximately five miles away. Once there, they spread out on the floor of the "Soul Patrol" room to sleep for the night. Waking before dawn, they set out again for the five mile walk back to PC and Molly's home.

This was done to raise money for the Invisible Children of Uganda in hopes that someday they will be relieved once and for all of the fears of being abducted by this Army of hate. Please link on to the official website of the "Invisible Children" to find out more about the ominous situation in Uganda and to find out what you can do to help. Soul Patrol raised over $1,400.00 and learned so much from this experience. www.invisiblechildren.com
